• T8 Fluorescent Tubes — 1" diameter, G13 medium bi-pin. 17W 2 ft, 32W 4 ft, and U-bend (FBO31 / FBO32).

T5 vs T8

T5 and T8 are different diameters and different sockets. Use the child collection that matches the code printed on the glass.

How to Choose

1. Read the existing tube

Copy the code on the glass: F28T5, F54T5HO, F32T8, F17T8, FBO32. That string is the order.

2. Match color temperature

• 3000K / 3500K — warm and neutral offices
• 4100K — most commercial interiors
• 5000K / 6500K — warehouses, shops, task light

3. Pair the ballast

A T5 tube needs a T5 ballast. A T8 tube needs a T8 ballast. Shop Fluorescent Ballasts if the fixture is cycling or dark on one end.

4. Converting to LED

When the building is moving off fluorescent, shop LED Tubes (Type A plug-in or Type B ballast-bypass) instead of another case of tubes.
